Thank you so so so much to all my sponsors - you are super heros. And to the people Red Ark and I have helped over the years, and who haven’t yet made the time or found the money?…………………… Well I’m not a saint so I am disappointed by your lack of support. But there’s still time to redeem yourselves !!!!!. If not in the next few days (and that would be awesome) then for another cause. At some point you will want to GIVE BACK. There’s nothing better I can promise you.

So from 6pm tonight it’s all about soup and cardboard.

So I will be watching (and enjoying the couch before the CEO Sleepout tomorrow night). I kind of thought clients would be watching too but this is an interesting comment from Sarah on the Mumbrella site (who is obviously client-side).

Would love an opinion from other clients as we have debated with ourselves as to what being involved with the show says to your clients…….

“From a client perspective, I would hate it if my agency was on TGT preening and parading like a peacock. Same goes for excessive advertising award entries. Just get on with the job, and stop looking in the mirror.”

Westpac is really making it work 0

Posted on June 09, 2010 by Liz Rowell

I’ve noticed that Westpac has done the unthinkable - added the name, telephone number, mobile and email address of the local bank manager to its website and SHOCK horror, plastered all over the brand windows Hah! I thought - is this just a cunning stunt?

Not at all. Last week I had a question about my mortgage. Eschewing the call centre (as is my wont) I decided to contact my local bank manager. I heard nothing back for a few days and was beginning to wonder how serious they were about letting us talk direct to the BM. Then lo and behold yesterday I got an email back from Andrew Parry of the St Leonards branch, advising me he had sorted everything out, and giving me a discount on my interest rate.

My granddad was the Bank Manager of Port Macquarie Bank of NSW branch - back when being a Bank Manager was really quite something. He saw farmers through droughts and helped keep local businesses running. He would have been proud! (although not overly keen on the whole email thing). So thank you Andrew Parry and well done Westpac.

BRISBANE City Council is waiving library fines for overdue borrowers who donate a can of food to Foodbank, for distribution to welfare agencies and needy families. 0

HOW MUCH DO I LOVE THIS IDEA

Brisbane Lord Mayor Campbell Newman said it will cost the city more than $1.4 million in fines during the June charity drive.

But a similar scheme in June 2005 collected more than 30,000 tins of food and returned almost 3,000 overdue library items.

“People should take a can of tinned food to one of council’s 32 libraries with their library card and any overdue books to get their fines waived,” he said.

The CEO sleepout - help us help the homeless 0

Posted on May 20, 2010 by Liz Rowell

I’m going to be part of the CEO Sleepout at Luna Park on Thursday June 17. Please help me make a difference by donating today. It’s a disgrace that we even have a homeless problem in a country as rich as Australia…………. The aim is for each CEO to raise at least $5,000. I’ve a way to go!

New S-26 GOLD Stand for Wyeth 0

Snapped at last week’s PBC baby show at Rose Hill Gardens, the stand we designed for Wyeth. Though I do say it myself, it looks amazing - and the format is very functional too.

Disney magic at Panthers 0

Posted on April 29, 2010 by Liz Rowell

We recently organised a partnership between Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment and Penrith Panthers (both Red Ark clients) to run a Disney Family Movie season at Panthers over the summer. It was a smashing success as you can see from the pics. Hundreds of  families turned up to watch movies like Snow White, Tinkerbell, Dumbo and Santa Buddies. A great way for Disney to reach out to families and Panthers to connect with the local community in a magical way.
